Clarion Hotel Portland Airport ME

I had a lovely time. My room was nice, the staff was nice, and they gave me all the coffee I needed. There was an error where they accidentally overcharged me for an extra night, but when I raised issue with it they refunded me the next day. That's why I would totally stay with them again. Accountability is very rare these days, I trust a business that fixes their mistakes more than a business that claims to never make them.

Conveniently located for a travel break, though I found it difficult to find the entrance while jetlagged arriving at midnight because it's tucked away in the middle of a block and lacks good signage. Rooms are beige but comfortable. Nice staff, front desk open 24 hours.

Not sure why so many reviews are negative. For the price and location this hotel was decent. Upkeep of the rooms where normal. Room was clean. Staff was nice at the front desk, seems under staffed. Did not get to check out the pool. All in all, decent considering the cost.

Hotel is a little dated. Overall my one night stay was nice and quiet, my tv didn't work and internet was spotty.

Plus side: Room was clean, beds were comfy and the room met our needs. Pool & hot tub were enjoyable. Staff was very friendly and it was conveniently located for our stay. Down side: We requested fresh towels for our 2nd nights stay and the request was not passed on to housekeeping. I had to chase them down for replacements. (The gal was very helpful and sorry that they hadn't been informed.) We also decided on breakfast at their restaurant the 2nd morning. Pancakes at the next table looked great so we ordered some. Not sure what happened between his order and ours, but we weren't able to finish ours. They had an "old" grease taste to them and what I did eat definitely did not settle well on my stomach. I informed the waitress (who was lovely and efficient) and she was surprised and apologized, but that was as far as it went. I'm now curled up on the bed trying to not bring up the breakfast that I just ate. Check out will be postponed for a bit.

I stayed in a pretty nice room and overall had a good experience. The only issue was the noise from the air conditioner — it was quite loud at night, so I had to use earplugs to sleep. Other than that, everything was great. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Although they don’t offer free breakfast, they provided delicious snacks like donuts and muffins, along with hot coffee on Monday and Tuesday mornings. I really appreciated that thoughtful touch.

Nice and clean room. I grabbed a quick paid breakfast at the restaurant down stairs, before heading to the Portland farmers market around the corner, came back and then checked out. French toast is absolutely delicious. Love it

My wife required eye surgery and a follow-up appointment the next morning. The Clarion is within walking distance of the eye clinic AND they offer a very good medical discount rate. The staff allowed us early check-in after her surgery (thank you). Rooms were fine (we slept well). Breakfast was included (sit down with menu service). That's it, nothing fancy, just a close hotel with nice people, good rate, great location.
